MUSIC LESSONS



Music theory



Music theory is delivered alongside all our Piano and/or singing lessons in preparation for any exams or just as an interest… If you enjoy music you will bring the music alive by understanding music theory.



Performance skills



Every singer is different and has different levels of confidence… we work with you to develop your skills in performing and microphone technique. We can work towards building a working repertoire for performances.



Exams



We cater for those who wish to take exams with the London College of Music in either Popular music singing grades or their brand new Musical Theatre Syllabus https://lcme.uwl.ac.uk/home



PIANO & singing



We cater for all ages with piano lessons from the age of 7. Many adults return to piano lessons and we have a very high success rate with rekindling this love of piano. We offer daytime sessions at a concessionary rate of £10 for those out of work or retired. So, if you fancy having a go at bringing out your inner Einaudi give us a call… you won’t regret it!



Audition Techniques



For anyone who is auditioning for talent shows or university, shows or theatres, we can offer help in building auditions techniques. Look out X Factor and BGT!



Learning repertoire



We work with our students to build a repertoire of songs that both suit their voice/vocal ability and build towards engaging with an audience.



ABOUT US



EML music is a music service provided by Evelyn Lodge. Evelyn has been a piano and singing teacher from the age or 17 so with some 40 years behind her in teaching. She offers Piano and singing tuition at it’s best. Growing up in Scotland, Evelyn moved to the North East in 1987 where she embarked on a Cabaret career AKA Eve Brown. Now living in Shildon, she teaches from her home, with a whopping bunch of students she teaches from the age of 7 to 90, and has an exemplary pass rate in London College of Music exams.

What’s in a singing lesson



Singing lessons are tailored to meet the needs of the student. This will always include vocal health care with a warm-up routine set in place then furthered by vocal development and techniques. We provide warm-up CD’s so that you can establish a routine at home too. We love to record our students near the beginning of their journey with us so that we can monitor progress as we go along. We also do live performances with our students 3 times per year to encourage confidence and performance styles.



MAD Choir



MAD (Making a Difference) Choir Is a community choir who raise funds for local charities. We meet on Wednesdays at Woodham Community Centre at 7pm – 9pm MAD choir pride themselves as being all inclusive with a family feel.. We do fundraising events 4/5 times per year in aid of local charities. MAD has been running now for 4 years as a choir and has around 45 members at the moment. If you’d like to join us or know more, please ring for details or just turn up! You’ll be assured a warm welcome.
